Cedoux Kadima

Bio

Born in DR.Congo, 1986

2003 - 2006 Studied at the Academy of Fine Arts, DR.Congo

Cedoux Kadima is a human rights and community artist who was born in Kinshasa, DR.Congo. Since coming to the UK he has worked on youth projects with Project Phakama UK and The Barbara Melunsky Refugee Youth Agency where he has developed his skills in film making and design - and currently working with the Opera Circus on The Complete Freedom of Truth, which is an inclusive international youth led project working with young people from diverse backgrounds, cultures and abilities.

Cedoux has always enjoyed art from an early age. And he still can remember spending most of his childhood just drawing and being inspired to make and create anything from/and everything!

As an artist, his mission in the Congo was to use his art – and status as an artist - to tell people about the plight of young children living on the street, who had suffered from abuse.

He also worked with these young people in the Congo, supporting them to express themselves in art - and promoting education and protection for all children from his home country the Congo to the rest of the world.

Cedoux's hope is that through his work people will start to reflect on things that we fail to notice, to be able to compromise in our differences and  celebrate the diversity of our humanness - to prioritise human life and empathise with others,  and bring about change.

"To dream and to hope is human, it is as essential as the air we breathe. Our ability to dream and hope is triggered by our memories and our experiences".
